The Only
Full-Service Welding Shop in Grand Isle County

Island Welders is owned and operated by Lucas Campbell, who also runs Grand Isle Gophers and Green Mountain Marine Services. That background matters – years of excavation work, marine construction, and managing contractor relationships across the Lake Champlain region built a clear picture of what a welding shop needs to be and what most shops get wrong.

The problems were predictable: fabrication from one shop, welding from another, finishing from a third. Timelines slip. Parts don’t fit. Nobody owns the outcome. Island Welders was built to fix that: cutting, fabrication, welding, and finishing handled by one team, in one shop, with one point of responsibility.

Who We Work With

Contractors need a welding subcontractor who shows up, delivers what was quoted, and doesn’t blow their timeline. Marine operators and waterfront property owners need dock and lift repairs done before the season opens—not three weeks after. Farms need equipment welded where it sits, during the narrow windows when downtime costs the most.

We work with all of them. The shop is set up to handle structural and functional metal work, not ornamental projects or automotive bodywork. If it needs to fit, hold weight, and survive Lake Champlain conditions, that’s the work we’re built for.

Equipment That Backs Up the Capability

Most welding shops around here are a welder with a truck or a small operation without the equipment to handle full projects. We invested differently.

Being Local Matters When Time Is Of The Essence

The nearest full-service welding shop outside Grand Isle County is 30+ minutes toward Burlington. For a scheduled project, that’s fine. For a dock that failed in May, equipment down during harvest, or a contractor waiting on fabrication – every extra mile adds delay.

We’re based here. We know the lake, the seasonal crunches, and what metal goes through in this climate. When the schedule is tight, local access to a fully equipped shop is the difference between a problem that gets fixed and one that waits in line.
